On Monday, the soccer season got underway officially. Trinity Soccer hosted the Lions of Central-Carroll in their season and home opener. The Girls opened up the night with a dominant performance over Central, mercy-ruling them in the second half.

Silvana Davila led the team with 3 goals and 2 assists. Peyton Daniels and Jordyn Rawlings each scored twice. Ava Anthony and Kennedi Pitts each scored once. Emerson Reifschneider scored once and had 4 assists on the night. Ella Van Eman also had an assist.

A great performance from the girls set the tone for an inevitability high-tension game which pitted Trinity Head Coach Mike Townson against his former team. Lions opened up the night with an early PK by Collin Mudge. They then gave up a goal and went into the half tied at 1 a piece.

Central was able to score an early second half goal to take the 2-1 lead. Trinity was later shown a red card on a foul and went down to 10 men for the remainder of the game with about 25 minutes left. Down a man did not matter because Trinity came right back with another goal from Collin Mudge assisted by Colin DePriest and then later with the same duo, but DePreist earning the goal on a deflection.

Fought from behind and a man down for almost the entirety of the second half, but the Purple Lions got the job done and secured the 3-2 victory!

Lions are back in action at home on Friday against Sandy Creek for a Girls/Boys doubleheader in the First Annual TCS Lions Soccer Tournament beginning at 6:00pm with the girls. Lions will continue tournament play on Saturday.
