Lil' Big South Top 40

On MLK weekend, numerous local athletes took to the courts for their respective club volleyball teams in the annual Lil’ Big South Tournament hosted at the Georgia World Congress Center.

Coweta-based Georgia Fusion entered 6 teams into the tournament, 2 of which placed in the top 5 in their divisions. Other clubs with Coweta County representation included A5 Volleyball based in Roswell, A5 South which is located in Newnan, Rio Volleyball based in Smyrna, and 575 Volleyball based out of Woodstock with locations in Tyrone and Carrollton.

20 total hours of constant volleyball (plus about 6 total in drive time), over 15 teams and dozens of athletes photographed, old faces, new faces, from 12’s teams to 18’s teams. My second year covering this tournament and it is by far one of my favorite events to cover. Through all the craziness, 50 courts of volleyball playing at the exact same time, this tournament is where my love for volleyball began last year and continues to grow with every match I attend.
